After setting off this morning we headed to Eagle Bluff Lookout a little further up the track toward Denham and Monkey Mia. This involved a 4 km very bumpy dirt road off the main highway which we began to regret having started down shortly after departing the asphalt. Nevertheless we persevered and were rewarded with spectacular views over the ocean and a lovely boardwalk to explore. Then it was on to Denham in search of fresh water to fill our tank, a search that proved unsuccessful. After a quick look around Denham we continued to Monkey Mia and checked in at the RAC Monkey Mia resort. Then followed a very welcome afternoon swim in the resort pool followed by a 2.4 km bush walk near the resort. Along the way we spotted a couple of kangaroos but not much else. Then it was back to the resort to enjoy a beer and hot chips at the Monkey Bar while watching dolphins frolicking by the beach as the sun was setting. The folk we'd met at Whalebone Bay in their M8 were also at the resort. A very relaxing day.
