Day 14 - Perth - Monday 22nd May 2017

A much better day today - sun shining and quite warm. Our first port of call was Premier Avan an Avan dealership in the suburb of Osborne Park. Here I'd previously arranged by telephone for the rubber strip we'd been tucking into the door since halfway across the Nullarbor to be repaired or replaced. Leaving the vehicle with them we then walked a distance of around one kilometer to Glendalough railway station where we caught a train to the city. Once there we treated ourselves to a coffee before walking to St Georges Terrace where we caught a free bus to Kings Park and the Botanic Gardens. The gardens are beautiful and well worth a visit especially with the stunning views over the Swan River as a backdrop. From there we caught another bus back to near Elizabeth Quay which we set out to explore on foot. By now being lunchtime we ventured back into the city proper and had my favourite noodle dish, char kway teow, at some small Malaysian restaurant in some obscure city arcade. Then it was off to the dentist on Wellington Street for Sue. Unfortunately for her the news was not good with the tooth unable to be saved and requiring that it be extracted. She tells me they used gas to calm her nerves which she hadn't experienced before. Perhaps this is why she felt a little faint on the way home. We caught a train back to Glendalough station and walked back to Avan Premier to collect our vehicle. The team there had done an outstanding job insofar as they repaired the rubber strip and glued it securely back along the roof where it covers the line of screws. Then it was back to the caravan park for a well earned rest, dinner and bed.
