We set off this morning to leave Adelaide for Whyalla but with a short diversion to the Avan dealership in Windsor Gardens. This was so that we could get our under overhead cupboard down-lights replaced as one of the halogen bulbs had blown. An alternative was available in the form of LED bulbs which we opted for and had all four replaced with a resultant decrease in power consumption. Once these minor changes were completed we set off in earnest. Our first stop along the way was at another notable pink lake, that of Lake Bumbunga near the town of Lochiel. We took the opportunity to stretch our legs and wandered onto the salt encrusted lake bed for a closer look. Then it was off again following the Flinders Ranges in the distance with brief stops for fuel and cups of tea before arriving at Whyalla in the afternoon. Our campsite for the night was at Weeroona Bay football club, a low cost camping spot with access to the club amenities. This was a lovely overnight stop that suited us perfectly.
